The Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers of the European Commission has recently published a new edition of the Compendium of European Union Legislation on Judicial Cooperation in Civil and Commercial Matters. This new version has been reorganised, to provide a complete and up-to-date collection of EU law in force in the area of civil justice. It also contains several instruments adopted by the Hague Conference on Private International Law, given their connection with and importance for the European area of civil justice. It has been designed in a user-friendly way, to help readers quickly find the information they need, as well as other useful sources, including links to the Judicial Atlas in civil matters or to existing EJN-civil Practice Guides.

In 2010, the European Commission (EC) launched the e-Justice portal (the Portal), an electronic one-stop shop in the area of justice. Its aim has always been to make life easier for consumers and justice practitioners by providing information on justice systems and improving access to justice throughout the EU, in 23 languages. The Portal incorporates interactive tools which are very useful for EU lawyers.
