Description

Target group: police and law enforcement officers, border guards, customs officers and judiciary staff who are not used to dealing with internet crimes.
Aim: Raise awareness of criminal activities on the internet. It covers the basic concepts, the types of crime and criminals, the technologies that enable these forms of cybercrime and cyber-enabled crime, as well as the approaches used to combat it.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this module you will be able to:
- List various types of illicit products and services online;
- Define the roles played by criminals, groups and other people involved in providing illicit online goods and services;
- Describe the use of cryptocurrencies and other technologies for online money laundering;
- Recognise technologies and techniques that enable criminals to provide illicit goods and services online;
- Explain preventive measures, online threats and the practices and training that help protecting internet users;
- Identify aspects of investigating online trade in illicit goods or services and the international cooperation of law enforcement agencies.
