Description
Palliative care (the prevention and relief of suffering of any kind experienced by people living with life-limiting health problems) can be applied in prisons. In this short course, trainees learn about palliative care, first aid in the scope of palliative care, among other topics within this theme, with the aim of raising awareness and providing skills to professionals in the prison sector towards promoting dignity, quality of life and adjustment to illness, using the best available evidence. The target groups are individuals and/or organisations responsible for prisoners and professionals from entities linked with/or collaborating in initiatives that promote the health of prisoners and/or prison staff. No Prerequisite is required. This course has a total duration of 4h30 (3h30 e-learning + 1h self-study) and consists of 4 chapters. The MenACE project was co-funded by the European Commission under the ERASMUS + programme - KA2 - Strategic partnerships for adult education.
