This document has been developed in the context of the Study on sanctions for discrimination on racial/ethnic/religious grounds commissioned by the European Commission Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST). This Good Practice Guide offers guidance on the regulation and application of effective, proportionate and dissuasive sanctions in cases of discrimination on certain grounds and areas covered by the Racial Equality Directive (2000/43/EC) and the Employment Equality Directive (2000/78/EC).
