Description
Since its establishment in 2014, the European Lawyers Foundation (ELF) has been very involved with e-Justice issues, including those related to the development of the European e-Justice Portal (the Portal). Current ELF staff were even involved in the development of some functionalities added to the Portal, namely the Find-A-Lawyer (FAL) Search Engine (and its development through the EU funded projects FAL 2 and FAL 3) and the European Training Platform, which has evolved towards its current form as a repository of training material and list of training providers (including ELF).
The Portal contains very important information that is not just relevant for EU citizens and businesses, but also for justice professionals, including lawyers. However, the Portal is not very well known by justice professionals (at least not as well-known as it should be), meaning that functionalities of the Portal (e.g. registers, search engines to find justice professionals, etc) have a lower impact than they could have.
This guide aims at making lawyers more aware of the e-Justice Portal and of its functionalities of relevance to them. In order to make the guide as useful as possible, we decided to use a format that combines information and visuals in a user friendly way. We want the guide to be read so the Portal functionalities will be used, with a knock-on positive impact on access to justice in the EU.
