The module aims to improve the response to dealing with migrant smuggling which facilitates illegal immigration flows into the European Union. Learning outcomes:

1. Distinguishing between different types of third country nationals in the migration flow;

2. Explaining the immediate and wider impact of mass migration on policing in transit and destination countries (radicalisation, trafficking in human beings, etc.);

3. Assessing appropriate tools for information/intelligence gathering and exchange in connection with massive influx of migrants (INTERPOL, Europol, SIS, Frontex);

4. Identifying trends in migrant smuggling and related crime such as document fraud.

The target audience is law enforcement officials from EU Member States, EU agencies, and EU partners working in the areas of immigration, public security and criminal investigations.
