UNESCO's Webinar Series on Artificial Intelligence and the Rule of Law (2023)

Description

UNESCO's Webinar Series on AI and the Rule of Law consists of three sessions available in English and Spanish. Session 1, on “Intellectual Property and AI,” touches upon how the rights of creators may be impacted by AI in an Information Society. Session 2, on the “admissibility of AI-generated evidence before courts,” discusses the challenges and pitfalls judicial actors may incur in submitting or assessing AI-generated evidence. Session 3, on “augmented reality and access to justice,” exposes the trade-offs of using the metaverse as a tool within the Judiciary. Its target audience are actors associated with the Justice System, including lawyers, judges and prosecutors. Finally, its objective is to strengthen capacity of judicial operators vis-à-vis AI’s impact in both its utilization in the Justice System and its effects to society and the Rule of Law, within the subject-matters highlighted above.
